Live Edge Black Walnut Coffee Table
Dimensions:

- Slab is loaded with bright color, from bronze to red to black, with wavy quarter sawn throughout
- Cut from the trunk of a 100 year old Black Walnut log, the piece has a smooth, natural curve

This piece comes from a Black Walnut tree that was once a mainstay of a southwestern Minnesota yard. After being laid to rest by a heavy storm, it was cut into five logs, then hauled to our mill in Pelican Rapids, where it took the shape you see in the pictures above.
After it was left to dry through a cool Minnesota spring, the slab was placed in a kiln to complete the process, bringing the moisture content down to 6-8% to prevent warping. The slab was then run through an industrial planer and sander, and its edges meticulously finish sanded smooth. Finally it was given a lacquer finish, which brought forth the deep color and character synonymous with Black Walnut.
